Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using NudgeBuzz ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Description of Service
NudgeBuzz is a free mobile application that allows users to create customized notification channels with scheduled content delivery. All features are available at no cost.
User Accounts
- You may use the App without creating an account — data is stored locally.
- Account creation is optional and enables Groups & Nudges.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- One account per person.
Features
NudgeBuzz is completely free. All features are available to all users:
- Unlimited channels and content items
- Text, URL, image, video, and audio content
- To-do lists with subtasks, streaks, and due-date reminders
- Smart scheduling and notifications, including full-screen Alarm Mode
- Location-triggered reminders (optional, per channel)
- Timer, Stopwatch, and Sports interval training
- AI-generated content (optional, requires your own API key)
- All channel templates
- App Lock for individual channels
- Optional Groups & Nudges
- File-based data export and import
Location Trigger
- Location Trigger is an optional, per-channel feature that reminds you on arrival at a place you choose, instead of on a timer.
- It requires granting location permission, including background access if you want reminders while the app is closed.
- Place search is provided by a third-party service (OpenStreetMap Nominatim); see our Privacy Policy for details.
- You can disable Location Trigger for a channel, or revoke the permission in your device settings, at any time.
AI-Generated Content
- AI Content is optional and requires you to provide your own Google Gemini API key in Settings.
- Generated content is produced by a third-party AI model; we do not guarantee its accuracy and you are responsible for reviewing it before use.
- You are responsible for complying with Google's Gemini API terms when you use your own key.
Optional Donations
NudgeBuzz is free and will remain free. If you'd like to support development, you can make an optional crypto donation via the app's Support Development section. Donations are entirely voluntary and do not unlock additional features.
Advertising
NudgeBuzz displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob to help keep the app free for everyone, with no feature restrictions or paid tiers. See our Privacy Policy for details on what advertising data is collected.
User Content
- You retain all rights to content you create in the App.
- You are responsible for your content and must not add illegal or harmful material.
- We do not claim ownership of your content.
Groups & Nudges
- Groups & Nudges requires an account and is provided as a communication tool between group members you've chosen to connect with.
- Group admins can send "nudges" (custom notification content) to the whole group or to specific members who have accepted an invite.
- NudgeBuzz is not responsible for the content of nudges sent by group admins or members.
- Group admins may remove members, and can disband a group's active membership at their discretion.
- Members can leave a group at any time, which stops future nudges to them.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for illegal purposes
- Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the App
- Upload malicious content or spam
- Violate others' intellectual property rights
- Create excessive notifications that could be considered harassment
- Share your account with others
Notifications
- You control all notification settings within the App
- Notifications are sent locally by your device
- We are not responsible for notification delivery failures
- Battery optimisation and device settings may affect notifications
Data and Privacy
- Your use of the App is governed by our Privacy Policy
- Local data is stored on your device
- Groups & Nudges is optional and requires signing in
- You can export and delete your data at any time
Intellectual Property
- The App, its design, code, and branding are owned by NudgeBuzz
- You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App
- User-generated content remains yours
Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE: UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE SERVICE, NOTIFICATION DELIVERY ACCURACY, DATA BACKUP RELIABILITY, OR COMPATIBILITY WITH ALL DEVICES.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR: DATA LOSS OR CORRUPTION, MISSED NOTIFICATIONS, DEVICE BATTERY DRAIN, OR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
Account Termination
- You may delete your account at any time in Settings
- We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms
- Upon termination, cloud data will be deleted within 30 days
Changes to Terms
- We may update these Terms at any time
- Continued use after changes means acceptance
- Material changes will be notified via the App or email
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable laws. Disputes will be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, through binding arbitration.
